UP Sainik School, Lucknow: A Premier Institution Nurturing Future Leaders

The UP Sainik School, Lucknow, also known as Captain Manoj Pandey UP Sainik School, is one of the oldest Sainik Schools in India, established in 1960. It is a premier residential school for boys and girls, managed by the Uttar Pradesh state government. Unlike other Sainik Schools, which are under the Sainik School Society of the Ministry of Defence, UP Sainik School is run independently by the Uttar Pradesh Sainik School Society.

The school is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and follows a rigorous curriculum designed to prepare students for entry into the National Defence Academy (NDA) and other wings of the Armed Forces. Admissions are based on an entrance examination conducted by the UP Sainik School itself, followed by a medical test and an interview.

The UP Sainik School has a distinguished record of producing officers for the Indian Armed Forces and many alumni have also excelled in various fields, such as civil services, medicine, engineering, and more. The school emphasizes character building, leadership development, and a strong foundation in academics and physical fitness.
